_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;]<p>After\u00a0leaving\u00a0the railway terminal in Chengdu on\u00a0April\u00a025th, the container train was routed via the border crossing\u00a0Khorgos\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Altynkol, transited Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, and Lithuania for the first\u00a0part\u00a0of the\u00a0transport.\u00a0It\u00a0arrived\u00a0at the Port of\u00a0Kaliningrad\u00a0eleven\u00a0days\u00a0later, on May 6th.\u00a0Containers\u00a0were\u00a0transshipped\u00a0from\u00a0rail\u00a0to RTSB\u2019s\u00a0vessel\u00a0Anja, to be\u00a0sent\u00a0on their\u00a0way\u00a0to the Hutchison Port in\u00a0Felixstowe, Britain\u2019s largest\u00a0container\u00a0port.\u00a0The\u00a0vessel\u00a0berthed safely, four\u00a0days\u00a0later, with a record total transit time of only 14,8\u00a0days\u00a0on this <span>multimodal<\/span>\u00a0route.\u00a0From the port, rail forwarding options to multiple inland destinations are readily available.<br \/>The\u00a0service\u00a0is provided in\u00a0cooperation\u00a0with\u00a0Belintertrans-Germany\u00a0GmbH,\u00a0CDIRS,\u00a0UTLC\u00a0ERA and\u00a0RZDL\u00a0and complements our sea line between the\u00a0ports\u00a0of\u00a0Kaliningrad\u00a0and\u00a0Hamburg as well as Immingham\u00a0(UK),\u00a0introduced earlier this\u00a0year.<\/p>\n<p>Because of Brexit, transports to and from the UK had become more complicated.\u00a0The Trade and Cooperation Agreement concluded between the EU and the UK to regulate trade comes with much bureaucracy.\u00a0<br \/>This multimodal service not only eases customs procedures for\u00a0shipments\u00a0from China by bypassing the European economic area,\u00a0thus\u00a0avoiding additional declaration and controls in Europe.\u00a0Intermodal transports\u00a0customarily\u00a0use the\u00a0Eurotunnel\u00a0between\u00a0France and the UK.\u00a0<br \/>It also proves to be faster than other transport options\u00a0between\u00a0China and the UK.\u00a0Intermodal rail connections generally offer lead times between 18 and 22 days.\u00a0<br \/>In addition to price, lead time represents a\u00a0significant factor when it comes to customer satisfaction, because transit time andreliability directly impact various kinds of costs a shipper has.\u00a0<br \/>We are\u00a0convinced, this\u00a0new\u00a0combined\u00a0transport\u00a0will\u00a0create\u00a0added\u00a0value for our\u00a0customers\u00a0and the entire logistics market by drawing\u00a0clients,\u00a0seeking\u00a0efficient and reliable\u00a0shipping\u00a0options.<br \/>After an introductory phase of bi-monthly services, the\u00a0line\u00a0will be extended to run weekly.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.4&#8243;
