One of the notable geopolitical outcomes stemming from Russia’s conflict with Ukraine has been the resurgence of the Middle Corridor. This corridor has regained prominence not only as a regional economic hub encompassing Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Turkey but also as a progressively appealing alternative path between Europe and China.
The Middle Corridor is an initiative that seeks to connect Turkey to China via Georgia, Azerbaljan, the Caspian Sea, and Kazakhstan, with RTSB’s active involvement since 2014.
The substantial rise in demand for an alternative to Russian routes has compelled regional integration and connectivity initiatives to surmount technical and structural obstacles that previously hindered the efficient utilization of the Middle Corridor, resulting in attractive transit times and competitive pricing.
