From a European standpoint, the Middle Corridor provides a gateway to the burgeoning markets of Central Asia and the Caucasus region, while also delivering swifter access to the Middle East, North Africa, and the European Mediterranean region through the ports in Georgia and Turkey.
Since the onset of the conflict in Ukraine, transport volumes along the Middle Corridor have witnessed a substantial surge with an expected rise in transport volumes of 18 million tons until 2023.
With planned investments in the pipeline, the capacity is poised for robust expansion in the years ahead, solidifying the Middle Corridor as a compelling choice for multimodal transportation from European countries.
